Hello there! At OpenWorks, we are actively seeking a Python Developer for one of our clients. This is a 100% remote, temporary, project-based Contractor position open to talent located in Colombia.

This company based in the United States specializes in Process Automation, providing innovative solutions that streamline operations and enhance efficiency. Their mission is to empower businesses by simplifying complex workflows and ensuring robust, scalable, and secure automation processes.

In this role, you will work closely with the team to develop and maintain a Python codebase, build scalable API endpoints, and contribute to the architecture and optimization of cloud-based services. Your expertise in Python, FastAPI, and AWS microservices will be crucial to the success of various automation projects.

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Location: Colombia
  • Type of contract: Temporary, Project-based Contractor (100% remote)
  • Salary: $10-$18 USD/hour (based on seniority)

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and maintain a robust Python codebase.
  • Build and manage RESTful API endpoints using FastAPI.
  • Design and implement core platform components for web app interaction.
  • Contribute to platform architecture and scalability planning.
  • Maintain AWS microservices (e.g., Lambda) and optimize performance.
  • Set up and monitor system security measures.
  • Create and update technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with team members to share ideas and align on solutions.

Here’s Your Tech Playground

  • Advanced English Level (C1 level), or strong Upper Intermediate (B2 Level).
  • Experience: 3–8 years of Python development experience.
  • AWS Proficiency: Skilled in managing AWS infrastructure and microservices.
  • API Expertise: Strong experience with FastAPI.
  • Linux & Git: Proficient in working with Linux systems and version control using Git.
  • Security Knowledge: Experience setting up and managing system security.
  • Development Fundamentals: Solid understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle and HTTP.
  • Bonus Skills: Familiarity with Salesforce, React, SQL, and ORM frameworks.
