Hello there! At OpenWorks, we are actively seeking a Frontend Developer to join our team! This is a 100% remote, freelance/project-based opportunity open to candidates in Colombia!

Through our Assistify service (hireassistify.com), we provide businesses with skilled professionals to support their administrative, marketing, and operational needs.

In this role, you will work on modern web applications, leverage AI-powered tools, and contribute to building AI-augmented applications. You’ll write clean, scalable, and maintainable code while collaborating with a passionate team of developers to enhance user experience and application performance.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

  • Location: Colombia (Remote)
  • Type of Contract: “Contractor” modality, Freelance/Project-Based, 100% remote. This position is ideal for individuals who can dedicate a few hours daily to the role while maintaining other professional commitments. We welcome candidates who are already employed full-time or engaged in other projects, as long as they can manage their schedule effectively.
  • Pay rate: You set your pay-per-hour expectation! (in COP)
  • Start day: As soon as possible! 😊

What You’ll Do

  • Build and maintain modern web applications using React, Next.js, and TypeScript.
  • Work with AI technologies like Vercel AI SDK to integrate intelligent features.
  • Participate in rapid prototyping and MVP development of AI-augmented applications.
  • Write clean, maintainable code with a focus on performance and user experience.
  • Collaborate with team members to implement AI features and improve existing applications.

Here’s Your Tech Playground

  • 3+ years of frontend development experience with the React ecosystem.
  • Experience with Next.js and TypeScript.
  • Familiarity with AI development tools (Vercel AI SDK, Copilot, Cursor, or similar).
  • Proven experience in building responsive, production-grade web applications.
  • Understanding of REST APIs and modern frontend architectures.
  • Testing: Jest, React Testing Library
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    Bonus Qualifications
  • Interest in or experience with Vercel AI SDK
  • Enthusiasm for learning and applying AI/ML concepts in frontend development
  • Experience with rapid prototyping.
  • Knowledge of Progressive Web Apps (PWA) development.
  • Understanding of web performance optimization.
  • Experience with accessibility standards and clean code practices.
