Hello there! At OpenWorks, we are actively seeking a Machine Learning Engineer for one of our clients. This is a 100% remote Contractor position available to candidates in Mexico and LATAM!

As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will be responsible for joining a product team and contributing to the software design, algorithm development, and overall product lifecycle. You will collaborate closely with your peers daily, working through user stories and supporting the product as it evolves. Your responsibilities will include designing and implementing AI/ML algorithms within software products, performance tuning, testing, and product monitoring. Additionally, you will engage in customer outreach, develop ML educational materials, and contribute to data engineering. You’ll also drive multiple ML initiatives by leading algorithm and technology product design efforts.

- Type of contract: Full-time Contractor (pay per hour), 100% remote
- Pay rate: $25 USD/hour
What You’ll Do
- Contribute to the software design, algorithm development, and product lifecycle within a product team.
- Work on AI/ML algorithm design and implementation, ensuring seamless integration into software products.
- Focus on performance tuning, testing, and monitoring of products.
- Engage with customers and develop educational materials on machine learning topics.
- Collaborate on data engineering tasks and drive multiple ML initiatives.
- Lead algorithm and technology design to enhance product development.
Here’s Your Tech Playground
- 4+ years of relevant work experience.
- Expertise in modern scripting languages, especially Python.
- Proficiency in data engineering practices and platforms like BigQuery and Data Store.
- Experience with modern web frameworks such as Node.js.
- Ability to write SQL queries against relational databases.
- Familiarity with version control systems (preferably Git).
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform and AI/ML services like Vertex AI, BigQueryML, and AutoML.
- Proficiency in data analysis and machine learning tools (e.g., Jupyter Notebooks, Pandas, SciPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Experience with advanced machine learning techniques, including NLP, convolutional neural networks, and autoencoders.
- Hands-on experience with training ML models using large datasets.
- Experience with front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ReactJS (optional).
- Strong understanding of REST and web service design.
- Knowledge of production systems design, including high availability, disaster recovery, and security.
Familiarity with cloud platforms and automation patterns related to machine learning services. - Defensive coding practices for high-availability systems.
