Hello there! At OpenWorks Canada, we are actively seeking a Senior Back-end Developer (Shopify) for one of our clients. This is a 100% remote Contractor position, open to Latin America!

This company based in United States is a leading provider of innovative ecommerce solutions, specializing in delivering customized, scalable solutions for businesses across the globe. They partner with clients to develop and integrate cutting-edge technology that drives success in the digital marketplace.

ABOUT THE ROLE   

  • Location: LATAM (Colombia, México, Argentina, Venezuela, Chile, Brazil / Brasil, Nicaragua, Honduras, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Peru, Panama, Guatemala, etc.)
  • Pay Rate: $25 USD per hour. It would be $1.700 USD/month (PART-TIME) and $4.300 USD/month (FULL-TIME)
  • Type of contract: Contractor, Full-time or Part-time. 100% remote set-up.
  • Working hours: Eastern time

What You’ll Do  

  • Lead the development and integration of custom Shopify apps, ensuring seamless functionality across all environments (dev, staging, prod).
  • Manage and optimize AWS systems that support Shopify integrations and custom applications.
  • Debug and troubleshoot Shopify integrations, providing solutions and enhancements as needed.
  • Work closely with clients to map, migrate, and integrate Shopify data models, ensuring best practices are followed.
  • Contribute to the front-end development of Shopify themes, focusing on complex features and custom components.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that all Shopify solutions are scalable and meet the needs of global, multi-site deployments.
  • Stay up to date with the latest Shopify API updates, ecommerce integration trends, and best practices.

Here’s Your Tech Playground   

  • 7+ years of general development experience.
  • 4+ years of experience working with Shopify in an integration and custom app capacity.
  • 4+ years of experience developing and managing AWS systems.
  • Strong understanding of Shopify APIs, ecommerce integration best practices, and Shopify constraints/limitations.
  • Expertise in Shopify data models, integration mapping, and migration best practices.
  • Proven experience with Shopify multi-site and global deployments.
  • Competence in front-end and UI development within Shopify, including advanced client-side JavaScript and custom features.
  • Experience with Node.js and Ruby (PHP is a plus).
  • Shopify front-end/theme development experience is a plus.
