Hello there! At OpenWorks Canada, we are actively seeking a Senior Back-end Developer for one of our clients. This is a 100% remote Contractor position, open to Latin America!
This company based in United States empowers individual taxpayers by simplifying the tax filing process through a user-friendly online platform, including free filing for qualifiers, making it faster, easier, and less stressful.
ABOUT THE ROLE
- Location: LATAM (Colombia, México, Argentina, Venezuela, Chile, Brazil / Brasil, Nicaragua, Honduras, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Peru, Panama, Guatemala, etc.)
- Salary: $80.000 – $85.0000 USD/year.
- Type of contract: Full-time Contractor (pay per hour), 100% remote set-up.
- Working hours: Eastern time (9am – 6pm)
What You’ll Do
- This role is your chance to develop innovative tools and Microservers using your expertise in .Net, Python, Ruby, Java, or any back-end programming language (90% of your time).
- You’ll also get to flex your design skills by gathering requirements, crafting solutions, and documenting them (10% of your time).
- Collaborate with the team to understand user needs and translate them into elegant technical solutions.
- You’ll create clear and concise technical documentation (think system diagrams and specs) to ensure a smooth workflow for everyone.
- Contribute to the development of robust DevOps pipelines and automated tests, streamlining the software delivery process.
- You’ll be involved in all the stages of the SDLC.
Here’s Your Tech Playground
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent working experience.
- +12 years of general experience in related fields.
- You’re expert in one or more back-end programming languages (.Net, Python, Ruby, Java… Whatever your strength, we want to meet you!)
- Solid coding skills: You’re a master of OOP patterns and can write clean, maintainable code using the SOLID principles. Bonus points for experience in risk assessment and mitigation!
- Testing whiz: You love unit testing and ensuring code functions flawlessly.
- Documentation ninja: You create clear, concise documentation (diagrams, data models, specs) that keeps everyone on the same page – developers, testers, the whole crew!
- Collaboration champion: High fives for working seamlessly with cross-functional teams (think developers, testers, analysts, and even marketing) to deliver stellar software updates on time.
- Code whisperer: You conduct code reviews, providing constructive feedback to help developers write even better code. Plus, you’re passionate about promoting best practices and continuous improvement.
- Performance tuner: You identify bottlenecks in systems and optimize code and infrastructure to keep things running smoothly and fast.
- Security czar: You champion software security by implementing strong measures like encryption, access controls, and vulnerability assessments.
- Team player with a drive: You collaborate effectively while taking ownership of tasks and keeping the team moving forward.
- Time ninja: You manage projects like a boss, meeting deadlines and keeping everyone informed.
