Hello there! At OpenWorks Canada, we are actively seeking a Software Architect for one of our clients. This is a 100% remote Contractor position, open to Latin America!
This company based in United States empowers individual taxpayers by simplifying the tax filing process through a user-friendly online platform, including free filing for qualifiers, making it faster, easier, and less stressful.
ABOUT THE ROLE
- Location: LATAM (Colombia, México, Argentina, Venezuela, Chile, Brazil / Brasil, Nicaragua, Honduras, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Peru, Panama, Guatemala, etc.)
- Salary: $105.000 USD/year.
- Type of contract: Full-time Contractor (pay per hour), 100% remote set-up.
- Working hours: Eastern time (9am – 6pm)
What You’ll Do
- Gather requirements, design solutions, and meticulously document them to ensure flawless execution in partnership with diverse teams.
- Craft powerful tools and micro-services using your expertise in .Net or Python, championing best practices for continuous improvement.
- Contribute to the development of robust DevOps pipelines and automated tests, streamlining the software delivery process.
- Bridge the gap between cross-functional teams (developers, testers, analysts, customer service, and marketing) to ensure seamless software updates and upgrades.
- Conduct code reviews, ensuring adherence to best practices and federal/state guidelines. Provide insightful feedback and empower developers to continuously improve.
- Identify and eliminate software bottlenecks. Optimize code and infrastructure for lightning-fast response times and peak system efficiency.
- Safeguard our software systems by implementing robust security measures – think encryption, access controls, vulnerability assessments, and airtight documentation.

Here’s Your Tech Playground
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent working experience.
- +12 years as a Software Developer, most recently as an Architect.
- You’re the best with .NET or Python.
- Full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) Expertise: Problem definition, requirements gathering, design, scoping/estimation, development, testing, security, deployment, post-production support, alerting/monitoring/logging.
- Solution Architecting and Technology Selection Expert: Skilled in ER diagrams, sequence diagrams, and OOP patterns for SOLID code.
- Proven ability to assess risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Selects and implements appropriate technologies, frameworks, and tools considering: Time-to-market, compliance/compatibility, cost-effectiveness, and industry best practices.
- Technical Documentation Pro: Creates and maintains system diagrams, data models, technical specifications, and processes.
- Time Management Master: Meets deadlines consistently with strong project management skills.
- Problem-Solving Ninja: Utilizes a holistic approach to effectively tackle complex issues.
